What a fantastic weekend Team Flatout enjoyed March 7-8 at Virginia International Raceway! Clients Tim Estes, Jon Farbman, Amy Mills, Whitfield Gregg, Steve Tullman, Max Tullman, Jim Walker, Greg Tewes, and Sam Wilkinson all made the trek south. Here are some highlights :
– Estes won everything he ran the whole weekend. That’s right, every … single … race. Wow!
– Company president Nick Leverone and Whit finished second in Sunday’s enduro.
– There was an all-Flatout podium following Sunday’s STL race: Farbman took the win, Nick finished second in Tim’s RX-7, and Whit took Show.
– Everybody was excited for the track time and practice, as VIR will host an SCCA Majors Race in April.
– Greg Tewes earned his Competition License and scored a Top Ten finish in Saturday’s enduro.
– Sam Wilkinson and Jim Walker finished seventh and eight in that enduro.
– In Sunday’s SM race, Max and Whit each nabbed another Top Ten.Read More >
It’s been our busiest year ever, and the beat goes on.
Flatout clients Steve Tullman and Max Tullman have launched a full-bore Porsche campaign in IMSA’s GT3 Cup Challenge. Their first race, August 21-23 at Virginia International Raceway, was fantastic. Max finished third – a podium in his first pro bid! – while Steve put together an impressive qualifying run, sitting second on grid after wrecking early (the crew got his car buttoned up!).
That was a split weekend for Team Flatout; we supported Sam Giardella, Wendy Cappola, David Quinlan, Doug Fambrough, and new Arrive & Driver David Kuchrawy at the first-ever SCCA Regional held at Palmer [MA] Motorsports Park. On Sunday, Fambrough stole the spotlight, racing from last (due to a car swap) to first in SM!
August 14-16 found us at New Jersey Motorsports Park supporting Amy Mills, Neal Walker, and Kurt Mueller. Great racing all around!
August 7-9 was also a split weekend. Longtime hotshoe Eric Thompson and Greg Tewes ran at Pocono International Raceway. Meanwhile, a large contingent went south to Daytona, prepping for the upcoming SCCA Runoffs. Company president Nick Leverone raced, as did Mills, Neal Walker, Jim Walker, and the Tullmans. Look out, Runoffs: Team Flatout will be ready!
July 31-August 1, we were closer to home at New Hampshire Motor Speedway’s annual Racing Against Leukemia weekend. As is our custom, we offered track rides, raising $800 in the process. Tom Mariano, Flatout’s own Jody Leverone, Doug Fisher, and Fambrough all shone. Jody snared a pair of podiums in ITA, while Fisher nailed the third-fastest lap time in the competitive SM class.
July 17-19 we were at Watkins Glen, where Mark Anthony and Bob Varca joined Mariano and Fambrough for an outstanding weekend.
July 10-11, Connecticut’s Thompson Speedway Motorsports park was the venue. James McCann and the Tullmans raced hard and well, as did Hugh and Craig McHaffie.
We opened July with an SCCA Major at the Glen. Leverone, Mills, Whit Gregg, and Yiannis all had a ball.
Of course, none of this happens without phenomenal crew support. The Leverones, Jerry Rigoli, Adam Desrosiers, Yvette Tenorio, Andrew Burke, Seamus Erskine, Rob Newton, and Evan Consolazio all deserve a hand. Whether they’re at the track or pulling off miracles at the shop, we rely on them!
Finally, join us in welcoming David Goulet to the team! David has quickly made himself indispensable in the shop, and he looks forward to crewing at the track as well.Read More >

One win, two trophies for Flatout president Nick Leverone!
In case you’ve skipped the button on our homepage, here’s a reminder that you can Like our Facebook page to stay abreast of our latest doings!
For example, we just wrapped a great SCCA Majors weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The highlight came when Flatout’s Nick Leverone, driving the rotary-powered STL Miata we built for Jon Farbman, started dead last in a 50-car field and slashed all the way to the top of the podium. What a drive! What a car!
And now it’s on to Sebring. You’ll find further updates here – and on Facebook!Read More >
What a weekend at Virginia International Raceway! Flatout Motorsports won both the 8- and 13-hour components of the Halloween Day/Night Enduro, held October 23-25.
In the 13-hour race, congrats to the strong team of Will Fox, James Fox, and Marc Breuers. These guys have been close before – but this time, with flawless driving and crew work, they brought home the Spec Miata gold! Also impressive were Amy Mills and Whitfield Gregg, who took 4th.
Flatout also jammed the podium in the 8-hour iteration of the race; Max Tullman and Steve Tullman ran one-two in their Stendra-sponsored Porsches. Well done!
An enduro requires se amless preparation and teamwork at both the shop and the track, so let’s take a moment to thank the following cast of thousands: Nick Leverone, Adam Desrosiers, Nicky Beans, Seamus Erskine, Evan Consolazio, Dave Goulet, Andrew Burke, Rob Newton, Jerry Rigoli, Pete Morrison, Sarah Bowin, Jody Leverone, Kurt Russell, and Jacki Rigoli. They make it all happen!Read More >
With the Sports Car Club of America’s championship, the Runoffs, held at Daytona International Speedway this year, Flatout Motorsports was bound to have a major presence.
Company president Nick Leverone, Adam Desrosiers, Andrew Burke, Jerry Rigoli, and Flatout office manager Jody Leverone crewed, while Nick, Amy Mills, Whit Gregg, Joe Cooley, Tim Estes, and Eric Thompson competed.
In such an action-packed week it’s hard to pick out individual highlights, but we had plenty. In Spec Miata, Nick got punted early on but fought back up for a strong finish. That race, held under the lights, concluded with an amazing fireworks display. Which reminds us: huge thanks to Mazda Motorsports for their support!
In the STL class, leverone finished fifth after an epic front-of-the-pack battle against a pair of Hondas. Jon Farbman’s DrillMaster Miata ran like a top! Tim Estes finished 11th in a very competitive field in his RX-7, while Amy and Whit formed a kick-ass husband-wife drafting team, passing cars right on the high banks.
Flatout clients Eric Thompson and Joe Cooley deserve a special mention. When Eric’s engine blew before his STL and STU races, Joe gallantly provided a car. Eric had to start at the tail end of the field due to the last-minutes swap—but he drove like a madman, winning the Hard Charger award in both races! As if that weren’t enough, Eric’s pregnant wife flew in to surprise him!
What a week, what an event. But stay tuned for more news; we’re not letting off the throttle one bit, and before you know it we’ll be moving south for our Winter Series!Read More >
Hey, we made it through February – let’s all pat ourselves on the back!
While we still have a very active Winter Series schedule featuring trips to VIR, Road Atlanta, and New Orleans, it won’t be long before even northeasterners can enjoy some racing.
Both our Arrive & Drive programs and our racing rentals get very hot this time of year, as clients map out their racing programs.
So if you’re sick of shoveling and find yourself dreaming of NJMP, Lime Rock, or Watkins Glen in fine weather, take a look at our schedule and lock in your spot in the Flatout compound – before it’s too late!Read More >
